Science has proven that it's not our fault. Women are genetically wired to love a man with a guitar.
French researchers at the University of Bretagne-Sud and the University of Paris-Sud sent a fittie with a guitar out into the streets to see how many phone numbers he could get from women aged between 18-22.
They then sent the same guy out carrying a gym bag, and a third time without any props.
Findings published in the journal Psychology of Music found that he failed when carrying the gym bag, with only a 9% success rate. With just his boyish good looks - he managed a 14% success rate but with the guitar – he managed a 31% score rating.
Researchers for the study said this proves, 'that musical practice is associated with sexual selection.'
But why?
They hypothesised that his increased attractiveness when carrying the guitar, 'is perhaps associated with physical and intellectual abilities' or that women associate music with wealth and status of celebrity rockers.
